The photograph is taken through the Balkerne Gate - Britain's largest remaining Roman gate, built c200 AD. In the distance is the 1882 water tower known as 'Jumbo' and c105' high. It is now out of use but could hold 221, 000 gallons of fresh water. It is Britain's largest surviving Victorian water tower.
