The ancient monument came under the charge of the Ministry of Finance in 1934. Poor drainage inhibited inspection by visitors and in 1962 measures to improve the site were carried out. There are 39 stones in the 13 metre circle, seven of which bear the monogram "MOF". These and a few in the adjacent stone alignment, replaced missing stones after excavation and restoration by the Ministry of Finance. The small round cairn to the NW does not quite touch the stone circle and is between 3.75 and 4 metres in diameter. Abutting the cairn at its centre and running to the west is an approximate 15 metre alignment of 23 short stones.
