This station was the original terminus of the preserved Strathspey Railway. Since 1998 the Strathspey Railway has been able to the use the mainline Aviemore station, so this station has become redundant. The station building was dismantled last year, and moved to Inshriach House, with plans to rebuild it as a recording studio. The old footbridge and platforms remain, it looks like there is a coal store off to the right.
