Whitewashed Stone

Having noticed a large white object on the hillside in the past, I was curious to know what this is, and rather surprised to find out that the reason it is so white is that it has been whitewashed! I have now heard the story about it (thank you, Cassie). A man who lived near Knock buried his dog under the boulder, and then whitewashed it so that he could see the spot from a distance. See Image Confusingly, the 1:25,000 map marks a 'white stone' about 500 metres further north.
