The engine shed dates from 1898, and is now the Strathspey Railway's main workshop. It is a Category B listed building. A Class 27 diesel locomotive is parked outside, number D5394 or 27106 (previously 27050). It was built in 1962, and withdrawn from British Rail service in 1987, passing to the Strathspey Railway. It is now used for hauling some of the regular passenger trains along the Strathspey Railway.
