The stonework says "Primitive Methodist Church AD 1912". The church was closed in 2012 and the congregation transferred to Trinity Methodist Church on Ash Grove - see http://www.hemsworthandsouthelmsallexpress.co.uk/news/local-news/bid-to-save-church-for-the-community-1-4956432 for more details.
