This building, the Midland Hotel at 247 Gloucester Road and almost opposite the station, has been a pub and hotel since 1847, in the early years of the reign of Queen Victoria. Hotels and inns in and around Cheltenham tend to be fully booked up around the time of the annual Cheltenham Races, the time of year when demand seems to be at its highest. Time taken 3.36 pm BST (British Summer Time).
