The groups of trees appeared all the same age, suggesting that this large open space had been created in the last decade or two. I asked a few people if they knew what the land had been before. Some didn't know but one woman did: "It was the Hay Lane tip for years…it was huge…there was rubbish all over the ground." She believed it had been Solihull Borough's domestic refuse site. There were "covers for methane extraction." There is a play area in the centre of the park and a lake at the south end: see Image
