The bridge carries the road to Wollaton and Ilkeston over the Nottingham-Mansfield-Worksop railway line. The cleared land to the right of the railway was until quite recently the site of two gasholders. On the skyline, in Image, are some of the buildings of Nottingham University's Jubilee Campus and the "Aspire" sculpture. This was an especially grey and misty September morning.
