The route of James Brindley's Old Main Line, superseded when Thomas Telford built the New Main Line route between Birmingham and Wolverhampton. It is still navigable, and makes a pleasant walk or ride for much of its length, except perhaps the stretch right under the M5 between West Bromwich & Smethwick; that said, that too has a uniqueness to it.
