The wondrous early Georgian house facing us is Number 9, built by Samuel Ricketts in 1708-9. Rubbed brick, giant angle pilasters, cambered keystones, a superb modillion cornice and two pediments - all of the vocabulary of the early Georgian architect is on display here.
