The Wherry inn used to stand next to the North Walsham and Dilham Canal at Royston Bridge, which carries the B1150 road between North Walsham and Bacton. The inn closed in September 1965 and is now a private residence. A culvert replaced the bridge in about 1970 and today the canal is virtually dry at this location.
