Regional offices for the Welsh Government opened in 2009. Part of the brief for the building when built was to be energy efficient, and this included the installation of the wind turbine seen here. However, due to a combination of mechanical problems and poor siting, the electricity generated has been negligible and as a result it is now planned to remove it. A report on the similar turbine visible in the left background of this photo, installed for the adjacent Ceredigion County Council Offices, revealed similar problems.
