The British Transport Police building, complete with blue lamp, was smartened up during the recent restoration of the station after being used as a site office by the contractors. Behind the delightful Art Nouveau railings dating from the building of the station in 1904 is the cabmen's shelter, more of which is shown in Alan Murray-Rust's Image] - taken in 2009, before the terra cotta of the Carrington Street frontage was cleaned.
