Initially a successful copper mine and then later worked for tin. Between 1844 and 1891 the mine produced almost 67,900 tons of copper and over 6,900 tons of black tin. This engine house was a multipurpose house containing a 30 inch engine erected in 1880 to both wind and pump. On the left are the loadings for the crankshaft, flywheel, winding drum and flat-rod gearing. The boiler house was on the side towards the photographer and part of the walls still stand. The engine house is listed Grade II.
