There plaque on the bottom of the right side reads "Erected by Thomas A. Cook Esq, M.P., J.P. to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the accession to the throne of their Majesties King George V and Queen Mary, May 6th 1935" (Cook lived from 1902 to 1970 and was a Conservative M.P. for the North Norfolk constituency at various times)
