Despite having some of the best 1930s houses in London, they have razed the entire side to the ground and put up what can only be described as Victorian asylums. Luckily the other side is intact, I have known this road most of my life and had a terrible shock. They are doing the same in North London around similar roads in Highgate as well as the rest of SW London near here, and others further out in the stockbroker belt of Surrey around Oxshott. A fashion may only last a few years but with houses the results can last for centuries.
