Opened in 1910 by the Great Western Railway on the line from Cardiff to Swansea, this station replaced an earlier one some 600m behind the camera position. In turn it closed in 1964. View east towards Neath and Cardiff. A new station, just behind the camera position, opened in 1994 and the access path to the Cardiff-bound platform can be seen to the left.
