William "Bucky" McCullough, a Loyalist icon, was an UDA (Ulster Defence Association) leader who was shot and killed by the INLA (Irish National Liberation Army) in 1981. He lived in nearby Denmark Street. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_McCullough_(loyalist)
