Ruston Hornsby diesel engine. This is in the diesel house that held four W H Allen S47 engines driving centrifugal pumps until 1985. One remains and other engines have been moved in, including this one that was originally in 1938 at Woodcote Pumping Station near Reading. This has the modern form of 'solid injection' unlike the big air blast injection engine in the background.
