Not marked as such on Hurstpierpoint's 1842 tithe map but does appear on OS maps from 1874 to 1912. By 1937 the copse had mostly been grubbed except a section in the north east corner which all but disappeared in the 1970s. The barns are fairly recent additions. The old copse lies to the north of Image and south of Image
