Bere Alston became a junction on 2nd March 1908, when the Callington branch opened. The branch trains used the outer face of the up platform. Nowadays, this platform has been taken out of use altogether and trains for Gunnislake (which is now the terminus of the Callington branch) reverse here. Taken from the former goods yard.
