What do you do? - big steam engine small room, seven people and twenty minutes = total frustration. This is one of a handful of views of the unique Scott & Hodgson inverted vertical cross compound. We have the high pressure connecting rod and crank, big end stiff grease lubricator, main bearing "aquarium lubricator", Lumb's governor and the flywheel with wood boarding. The wheel is not wooden but the boarding prevents the spokes stirring up a gale at 72 rpm.
