Circa 1981, fire destroyed the warehouse at No.17 High Street, that was undergoing refurbishment and conversion to apartments. Arising from the ashes, Phoenix Court was newly built 1985. Charred timbers from the demolished warehouse have been utilised to construct a pergola between Nos.18 and 22 High Street (left). The vacant site, subsequent to the fire is at: Image
