Looking to the left along the cutting from the bridge shown in Image This section of line, from Bere Alston to Lydford, which had closed in 1915 and re-opened during the second World War, finally closed in 1968. There are proposals to reopen it, with a cycleway alongside where possible http://www.devon.gov.uk/exhibition-material.pdf .
