Tettenhall College was founded in 1863 by local businessmen and industrialists to provide a school with a Free Church ethos. The Church of England dominated most educational institutions then in existence. The college is situated on the top of a sandstone ridge with a steep escarpment. The college has extensive grounds and is noted for its bluebell walk.
