The entrance to the current venue which is home to Q Leisure an outdoor sports business dealing in go karting, paintball and archery amongst other activities. This section of the parish lies along a strip of greensand that separates the chalk Downs from the clays of the Weald and was known as Sand field on Hurstpierpoint's 1842 tithe map. However, quarrying for sand was not undertaken until after the First World War though by the 1956 OS map it was known as the Old Sandpit. Q Leisure moved in 1993 and operate in most of the fields between the old and new courses of the A23.
