Yn wag ac yn ddadfeiliedig bu Nant Gwilw o 1841 hyd at oddetutu 1901 yn gartref i deulu'r Morganiaid. Bu William Morgan (m. 1905) yn ddeacon yng Nghapel Spite, Llanfynydd ac yr oedd yn ddyn diwylliedig a hoffai farddoni. Roedd yn gyfaill hefyd i'r bardd lleol nodedig hwnnw, John Oliver. Empty and dilapidated, Nant Gwilw was, from at least 1841 until the 1901, the home of the Morgan family. William Morgan, a cultured man who wrote poetry, was also a deacon at Spite Chapel, Llanfynydd. He was also a boyhood friend of that well known Llanfynydd poet, John Oliver.
