The Ravensbourne Water Company was founded in 1709 and became the Kent Waterworks Company in 1809. The present building was erected in 1840, originally taking its supply from the river; perhaps surprisingly it is not listed. This view is from across the River Ravensbourne, which was rerouted in the 1990s to allow the construction of the DLR line between the river and the waterworks. See also Image
