Viewed across Ash Walk. A blue plaque records that this is The Old Police Station, built in the late 1850s with accommodation for three married officers, one cell and stables. It was a police station until 1932, when it was taken over by the Christian Science Church, its current occupier. A board on the wall shows that this a Branch of the Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, Mass. USA. This is a church, reading room, library and bookshop. All are welcome to attend religious services here and to use the reading room.
