Art Gallery run by Barnsley Council Museums. The building dates from 1769 when it housed the Barnsley Grammar School. The building was purchased by Samuel Joseph Cooper when the school relocated, and he bequeathed it to the people of Barnsley along with his art collection, The gallery opened to the public in 1914.
