Hawarden Drill Hall entrance canopy

This is the canopy over what seems to have been the entrance to what was once Hawarden Drill Hall. The Drill Hall was built for the 1914/18 war for the 5th Battalion, Royal Welch Fusiliers (B Company). It was built on a green field site at the end of what was called, until the 1960s, Drill Hall Lane. The lane, which is a cul-de-sac, is now named Groomscroft. The building is now used as Hawarden Youth and Community Centre. See also: Image and Image
