Viewed across Mitchell Street from the corner of Maiden Street. The inscription on the arched entrance doorway is WORKING MENS CLUB AD 1873. In a circlet above the arch is the name Henry Edwards, one of the town's MPs, who met the cost of erecting and furnishing the building. He handed the building over to the club's trustees at a public dinner on March 15th 1873.
