A 19th century survivor among modern multi-storey buildings, the large Grade II Victorian pub is at 29 Westgate Street, on the corner of Golate. The street now named Golate was previously known by various names, including Porth Llongau, Ships Gate, Frog Lane, Golygate and Gulleygate.
