The Overground train is bound for West Croydon. Behind it is the site of the former steam-era Norwood Junction engine shed, now a track maintenance depot. Curving down to join the main line is the line from Crystal Palace, in the down (southwards) direction: the corresponding up line runs just below the camera and can just be made out diverging left.
