One of three small meres in marshy pasture adjacent to the railway line, near Basford Hall Sorting Sidings just outside Crewe. The surrounding vegetation includes marsh grass, reedmace and willow bushes. The tower (left) is one of a large number carrying lights to illuminate the sidings.
