The south side of Victoria Street has grand Victorian commercial buildings. Evans & Son designed the nearest five bays of this for a bank and it was built in 1895-97. In 1920-21, T.B. Whinney added two bays, in keeping, for the Midland Bank. The tall ground floor has square granite pillars. Grade II listed. Now a branch of clothes shop, French Connection.
