View towards Lancaster. A temporary bridge has been built to facilitate construction of the Heysham to M6 link road. This will enable earth movement from the eastern section (which will be in cuttings) to the western section (on embankments) without obstructing other traffic. In the foreground, the A6 has been temporarily diverted (to the west) to enable the permanent bridge over the new road to be built.
