View westward from the footbridge, with a Class 319 EMU on a Down Thameslink service for Luton or Bedford: ex-Midland Main Line (London Extension) St Pancras - Bedford - Leicester - Derby/Nottingham - Sheffield, electrified in from Bedford May 1983, taken over for the Thameslink service through to South London in May 1988. The rarely used Fast line platforms are on the left and beyond them are the Goods lines. (The crowds - and my presence on the bridge - result from our being turned off the train because it had broken down).
