The wording on the back of this telephone box in the centre of the village says the following: AN ODE T' T'OWD PHONE BOX PRESS BUTTON 'A' If this phone box could only talk, Oh, the stories it could tell. Of the 'ins and outs' And the 'ups and downs' Of the good folk of Tideswell, Tidings glad, And tidings sad, Both received and transmitted. In an age when 'mobiles' Hung on cots, And only songbirds 'Twitter'd'.
