This is one of my more artistic works to date, and features in my portfolio. It was taken at the end of a mid-Winter's day in 2008, with a Samsung point-and-shoot camera. Very little post-processing - a slight dab of increased contrast - was needed, in keeping with my tradition of refraining from editing my works wherever possible. I believe that as a photographer, my objective should be to try and come as close to perfect as I can while I'm actually out taking the shot, because to me, photography is not so much what the artist can do with his editing software as what he can create with his camera and raw talent, first and foremost. I've forayed into surrealism, where I rely heavily on my post-processing software to help me create new, interesting effects, but for the most part - surrealism aside - I try my utmost to achieve the perfect shot 'in the moment', the idea being that very little or no editing is required afterwards.
