Viewed across High Street. Depicted above the doorway are two white doves, a symbol for peace. Below the doves are two identical male figures wearing blue caps, red jackets and blue trousers, an early to mid 19th century depiction of soldiers, a symbol for war. An indistinct year is inscribed between the doves and men, perhaps 1856, the year the Crimean War ended.
