It appears from the sign that the pub is owned by Admiral Taverns, a very large pub group. The name doesn't relate to the well-known biscuit but to Giuseppe Garibaldi, the Italian general and politician, who was one of the main people responsible for the unification of Italy in the 19th century (the Risorgimento). He is pictured on the sign. Why the pub was named after him is not known. A note for biscuit lovers - Garibaldi was a very famous man in his time and the Garibaldi biscuit was named after him.
