The pub, owned by McMullen, closed in 2010. In September 2013 plans were unveiled to demolish the building and replace it with a much larger pub/hotel. This has not gone down well with some locals http://www.hertsandessexobserver.co.uk/News/East-Herts-villages/Plans-lodged-for-proposed-redevelopment-of-the-Jolly-Waggoners-in-Much-Hadham-20140307125140.htm who have condemned it as a "Wedding Factory".
