Apparently a WW1 drill hall of 6th Battalion, Royal Scots (HQ and A-H Companies) http://www.geograph.org.uk/article/WW1-Great-War-Centenary---Drill-Halls/18#lothians , but now converted to housing. The front building would have been accommodation and administrative offices for the battalion. The actual drill hall behind on Hailes Street was demolished in 2000 for the new-build housing. [Thanks to John Maddan for that information].
