St Nicholas' and one of the school buildings now converted into cottages still retain their rural charm. Although a large council housing estate was built in Halewood in the 1950's Halewood Green was, until the latter half of the last century, still a rural village but is now surrounded by new housing developments and has lost its identity and just become "Halewood".
