Hull Paragon signal box (LNER Type 13), Art Deco, 1938. Brick-built with flat concrete roof. It is the LNER equivalent of the Southern Railway’s moderne boxes but square cornered throughout with none of the rounded corners that distinguish the SR type. Raised brick bands emphasise the horizontal lines of the box. Viewed from Park Street railway bridge. Hull Paragon signal box is due to close in 2026, the area to be controlled by LNE Regional Operations Centre at York.
