The memorial is in effect in a little roundabout just off the High Street at the start of the access drive to Holy Trinity Church. Plaques record the names of all those from Wordsley who died in both World Wars. Interestingly in 2006 a further name was added, that of Private Joseph Bateman. He was shot at dawn on the 3rd December 1917 for desertion. Some years ago the government decided to grant pardons to those soldiers shot by firing squads during the war. See also:- Image and Image
