In the foreground is the Bike 'n' Hound which was opened as The Royal Albert around 1850. The rear unplastered rear portion of the building originally opened into a back yard that included outside toilets. These were knocked down around the 1970s when New Beech Street was built. The building behind on the other side of Hamnett Street is the Job Centre.
