As part of the urban regeneration of this area now known as New Islington, Old Mill Street now has a central spine of lamp posts, designed to represent bent girders, tree-lined walkways and a 'bridge' made from reclaimed railway sleepers. On the right is what was Ancoats Dispensary Image neither saved nor demolished but wrapped in scaffolding to prevent it simply falling.
